For over 20 years, Christopher Coughlin has served in senior roles in government and the private sector, at the intersection of politics and government operations, trade, technology and investment.
Mr. Coughlin has served as a presidential appointee in two Administrations, working in the Department of Defense on technology security issues in Europe and Asia, and at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), a government agency that supports US business investment in international emerging markets.
Previously, Mr. Coughlin served as Managing Director of VATICO, Inc., the first US company licensed to operate in post-war Vietnam, designing market entry strategies for major US companies in diverse sectors. He was a founding Member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam.
For the past nine years Mr. Coughlin has been a weekly commentator on the “Rick Hamada Show,” KHVH radio, providing insight on politics, foreign policy and national security with his “Inside the Beltway” segment. He has also lectured at the George Mason School of Public Policy, and George Washington University.
Mr. Coughlin is currently a partner at Aplin Partners, LLC, a performance engineering firm which designs an implements elite capabilities in public organizations and private sector firms. He is also Managing Director of Frontier Development International, LLC, a government affairs consulting firm.
